Facility Access

As stated above, Face Coverings are required unless actively working out.

The Johnson County Family YMCA is open to all who would like to utilize our facilities.

All Johnson County Family YMCA members, Nationwide Y members, community members, etc wishing to use our facilities will be asked to sign a COVID-19 Waiver where they agree to illness and other special policies in place.

Individuals will continue to go through a check-in process before being allowed to use the facility. Hand sanitizer and handwashing stations are available throughout the facility.

Individuals will need to arrive dressed in the appropriate attire for their desired activity as the locker rooms are unavailable, with the exception of restroom and hand washing purposes.

Bath and sweat towels are unavailable.

Aquatics Center users will need to bring a personal towel from home. The deck showers are available for use to rinse off before and after using the pool. This remains an important step in protecting the chemistry of the pool.

Equipment towels and disinfectant spray are made available for use.

As stated above, Face Coverings are required unless actively working out.

Individuals will be asked to sign a COVID-19 Waiver, agreeing to a small series of illness special policies put in place to determine facility entry eligibility, as mandated by the New Health Order.

Front Desk staff will check to see if the desired workout area is available. If the area is at capacity, the individual will be directed to wait until a specified time at which the area becomes available.

Anyone who meets the illness policies on the COVID-19 Waiver is asked to stay home until such a time they are not in violation of the agreed-upon policies.

If an individual would like to change to a different area of the facility, they are required to check-in with the Front Desk to determine if there is space available in the desired area.

Work out sessions are restricted to one (1) hour.

Six (6) feet of distance must be maintained while working out.

Staff will be present to kindly remind individuals to create appropriate distancing if they observe patrons working out too close to one another. This is not only for the health and safety of everyone in the facility, but will also allow us to remain open and serving the community.

Individuals are required to check out at the Front Desk upon departure.

Staff will continue to go through a similar procedure as individuals.

If a staff person is deemed ineligible, they will not be allowed to work until they can meet the eligibility criteria.

Staff are required to check out at the Front Desk upon departure.

Staff are required to wear a mask while at work excepting certain criteria present in the Health Order.

Staff will be monitoring all workout areas to be sure the capacity caps are not exceeded.

Space Restrictions

The Aquatics Center is limited to 26 individuals.

The above 26 includes individuals in the pool, on the poolside cycling bikes, or spectating swimmers (parents with children, etc).

Drop In Child Care is open on weekdays, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Pursuant with statewide Order #4:

  • Children under 12 years of age are not required to wear a Face Covering. However, children 3 to 11 years of age are encouraged to wear a Face Covering.
  • If a parent would like their child to wear a Face Covering, our staff will follow the request to the best of their ability.

The Cardio Studio & Weight Room are limited to 12 participants between the two spaces.

Some of the cardio equipment has been taped off or moved to ensure proper distancing is met.

We ask that you complete all sets on a machine before moving to another machine. This helps to reduce the number of times the machines need to be cleaned and helps with patron flow.

During Classes

The Cycling Studio will be limited to four (4) participants and one (1) instructor.

Outside of Classes

The Cycling Studio will be limited to five (5) individuals.

The Gymnasium is limited to 12 individuals.

During weekdays, between the hours of 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, this limit decreases to six (6) on the west side of the Gymnasium.

Basketballs are available at the Front Desk for checkout.

Outside Basketballs will need to be sprayed and wiped down before being used in the Gymnasium.

For the full Gymnasium schedule, please visit: https://jcfymca.org/classes/

Individuals may visit in the lobby as long as they maintain proper social distancing.

The locker rooms remain open in a limited capacity.

This limited capacity is as restroom facilities only.

Changing in the locker rooms is prohibited.

Personal Items left in the locker rooms may be removed by staff without notice.

The showers are closed.

Facility Cleanliness
