4th-6th Grade Girls “Dig” In For Their First Practice
For a long time now we have recognized the need for a youth volleyball program in Buffalo. On Tuesday evening we realized that goal with our first practice, while 17 girls took to the court with Coach Paige Hellbaum leading the clinic.
“Setting” Them Up For Success
Here at the Y we promote lifelong health and wellness and athletic continuity from our young athletes through the ranks of the Middle and High Schools. This clinic style season meets twice a week for an hour focusing on the techniques, body placements and footwork that will translate into long term success at the next levels.
“Serving” Up Fun
Though skills and drills might not sound like fun it was nothing but smiles on the court as some of these athletes are honing their craft, while others may be taking to the court for the first time. We are very excited to watch the progression of these girls as they move through the clinic and into the ranks of the Bandits in the next couple years.
“Passing” The Torch
We are very excited to have the expertise of Paige, the mother volunteers and support of the Lady Bison Volleyball team that will be joining in and “passing” on their knowledge throughout the season.
Stay tuned for updates, or better yet drop in and see for yourself!
