Join us at the JCFYMCA for an exciting season of basketball focused on building strong fundamentals and a love for the game! This program helps young athletes develop essential skills — including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and teamwork in a supportive and positive environment!

Our experienced coaches and parents emphasize proper technique, sportsmanship, and confidence through age-appropriate drills and activities designed to improve each player’s overall game. As the season goes on, participants will have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in fun, instructional scrimmages where players can showcase their progress, teamwork, and passion for basketball

Our new design this year is to emphasize the fundamentals before playing a game. Starting from the beginning of the season we will be teaching drills and activities that encourage fundamentals of the game at an individual/smaller group level. Every week, a practice rundown will be provided with detailed drills, games, and fun activities that will progressively get them ready for a full game.

As always, our program will only run smoothly with the help of volunteer coaches/parents!  This year, with the new design and structure, we will have a lead coach who will partner with our YMCA Staff to plan and organize all of the practice sessions.  They will need 5-6 parents to assist during each session in order to optimize gym space and provide quality instruction for all of the kids!  Please select to volunteer when you register your child if you are at all interested in helping! (No experience required)
