A.W.A.Y. means “Always Welcome at YMCA’s.”  The A.W.A.Y. program is based on the philosophy that when a person enrolls in a YMCA, he or she becomes a member of a nationwide association of people that focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, and, therefore, when away from home, on business or vacation, will be warmly welcomed by all other participating YMCA’s in the United States.  A YMCA’s participation in this program is voluntary. Some restrictions may apply.

Because each local YMCA sets its own policies, each participating YMCA in the A.W.A.Y. program develops its own local restrictions.  If you are planning to visit another YMCA, please let our staff help you call the YMCA you are visiting and interpret their visitor policies before you go.  You may also go to www.ymca.net and locate a YMCA to visit by using the “Find Your Y” search and call the YMCA you would like to visit and ask about their policy.

If you are visiting the Johnson County Family YMCA please enjoy our facility free of charge.  All we ask from our visiting Y members are to provide our membership staff with proof of your current membership at your local YMCA.
